Cook – The Hospice of St Francis

The food we provide is a highly valued part of our service, making a real difference to people. Our catering team provide a variety of food to patients, their families and staff within a state of the art kitchen. The team will also provide catering to Hospice functions, as and when required.

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our small, friendly catering team. In this role you will have regular contact with patients, their families and visitors therefore a friendly, caring and approachable manner is essential, with the ability to work in a Hospice setting.

Previous experience as a Cook is essential, and you will need to hold a Food Hygiene Certificate.

The catering shift pattern is 08:15 to 14:15 / 14:00 to 20:00 / 17:00 to 20:00. The current days required are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with weekend working (on rota).

Please note: the catering team are required to be flexible to support the 7-day operation.

BANK CATERING ASSISTANT
Salary £8.26/hour

We are looking for a Bank Catering Assistant to help our small friendly kitchen team, as and when necessary, providing assistance in food preparation and cleaning.  Experience of assisting in a kitchen is essential.  Possession of a Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable; however training can be given.

The role requires flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and evenings (5-8pm), on an ad hoc basis.

Bank E-Commerce Assistant Managers – The Hospice of St Francis

Salary: Hourly rate £8.47

We are looking for Bank E-Commerce Assistant Managers with the ability to work in our eBay Shop on an ad-hoc basis, to cover holidays, training days and absences. You will bring your experience, energy and enthusiasm to the role providing cover to support the Manager with donations, processing gift aid and with the day to day retail activities of our successful shop.

Retail experience, the ability to work under pressure, excellent customer service, IT skills and strong organisational skills are all essential requirements.

Previous eBay selling experience is essential and an eBay ID essential

The role requires the flexibility to work various days across Monday to Friday,
and may require some bank holiday working

Appointment of Independent Persons

Salary: A small fixed annual allowance (now £420 per annum, subject to periodic review) will be paid, together with any travel expenses.

St Albans District Council is looking for up to 2 members of the public to take on the statutory role of ‘Independent Person’ for the Council.

This important role involves being consulted for your independent view on any complaints about District or Town/Parish councillors’ conduct and advising any councillors who are complained about.  Independent Persons may also be invited to serve on a Panel convened to advise the Council should disciplinary action be proposed in respect of certain designated senior officer posts.

Most requests for advice can be considered on the basis of case papers.  Occasionally you will need by arrangement to attend meetings of the Council’s Standards Committee held at the Civic Centre, usually at starting at 7pm.

To ensure the independence of the role, applicants may not be a St Albans District or Parish councillor, co-opted member or employee of the Council or have been within the last five years.  Neither can they be a relative or close friend of such a person.

No formal qualifications are required but candidates must be aged 18 or over and preferably live or work in St Albans District.  Initial appointments will usually be made for a term expiring on 1 July 2022.

The Role
We have a rare opportunity within the Inclusion & Engagement Team for someone with extensive experience in engaging and involving service users and carers across health and social care settings.
As manager for involvement programmes across the Trust you will be responsible for coordinating a small team, invested in ensuring the service user and carer voice is heard throughout the Trust, as well as coordinating Trust processes for involving people as experts by experience as part of their on-going recovery.

A key part of this role will also include a full evaluation of the current involvement programme and how this develops over the next few years in line with the Trust ‘Good to Great’ strategy.

With a proven track record in managing projects and/or processes you will join a friendly and innovative team seeking new ways to provide support to frontline services to ultimately improve the service user and carer experience.
