Become a peer mentor and… -Help a young person in Bedford or Central Bedfordshire improve their prospects -Find out whether a career in youth work is for you -Get real-world experience to reinforce youth or social work studies -Benefit from full training and support For 6-12 weeks, the mentor works with their young person in weekly hour-long sessions. Mentors support the young person’s academic and personal progress by identifying personal goals and creating an action plan to help them achieve those goals. It’s a rewarding experience for young people and mentors alike.
What are you looking for?
Passionate and caring volunteers who want to change a young person’s life.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and able to drive (travel expenses will be reimbursed). Experience of working with young people is desirable but not compulsory. Volunteering will be during weekdays only, either during school hours or after school.
