Who will benefit?
We think that everyone benefits from Shop Oddity, the residents of St Albans get to have some fun and it encourages people to discover what the High Street has to offer and promotes shopping locally.
Most of all, we’re fundraising for smaller, local charities.
There are some fantastic small charities throughout our district who make a big difference to the lives of local people. They might not have a “brand” that is instantly recognisable that helps to attract supporters and donors. Many of our members are completely volunteer-led and and do not have paid staff to promote their work or fundraise for them.
The role of the CVS is to support these charities.
Money raised through Shop Oddity will provide services to help small charities become more sustainable, such as training for staff, fundraising, writing bids, and social media and marketing advice to help them to reach new audiences. Services that currently aren’t accessible to them due to the cost and resource required.
