The Centre for Voluntary Service (CVS), a local charity in St Albans District, is running a project called ‘Because You Are Worth It’. This is an innovative project to change the attitude of 200 elderly local people, towards accepting help to access the myriad of existing, mainly voluntary, preventative services which can help them to stay well, healthy and independent. Many older people are notoriously difficult to help. We want to remind them that they are worth it and offer them treats e.g. vouchers for two free meals on wheels at the same time as encouraging them to have hand rails fitted for instance, so they don’t fall over.
Our next lunch takes place on the 10th June from 1130am to 1.45pm at St Julians Church, 3 Abbott’s Avenue, Cotton Mill, St Albans, AL1 2HY
Do you have someone living in your street who is isolated? Could they do with some support?
Please do get in touch with us and with their permission, pass on a telephone number so that we can contact them. We can organize free transport and have lots of lovely items to give away as well as a hot lunch and good company.
Please contact Nikki for more information or for an electronic leaflet. [email protected]
