About Us

Centre for Voluntary Service St Albans District (SACVS)

SACVS works in support of the local community, particularly the most vulnerable and excluded, by supporting the activities of member groups. SACVS is acknowledged for the mentoring, organisation building, information and development support services it provides to the voluntary and community sector of St Albans District. SACVS mobilises the community and supports volunteering through it’s Volunteer Centre.

We make a difference in the district of St Albans by supporting community groups, delivering services and voluntary action, enabling us to have a real and sustained impact on peoples lives.

Our key objectives are to

  • deliver services that develop, maintain, support and build the capacity of a thriving local voluntary sector

  • represent voluntary groups and connect them with local organisations so that local plans are informed and influenced by an engaged and well represented voluntary sector

  • encourage and match volunteers with opportunities to make stronger local communities

  • maintain a sustainable CVS in order to continue to provide accessible, good value and good quality CVS services so that the objectives above are met
