Herts Get Set - European and Big Lottery Funding

This is of interest for organisations whose work includes support services, employment and training projects (including financial advice services) for marginalised young people/NEETS and or those furthest from the employment market eg those with mental health difficulties, addictions, carers, ex-offenders , 50+, lone parents, troubled families.

SADC Community Grants Fund 15/16 – Launch Event Friday 24th April

The SADC Community Grants Programme will be launched on 20 April.
There is £70,000 funding available for local groups, who meet this year’s criteria.

Free tickets for Mayor’s Pride Awards gala event 2015
The Mayor’s Pride Awards honour extraordinary individuals and outstanding organisations in St Albans District. More than 50 nominations were received for this year’s awards and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Alban Arena on 26 March. Tickets are free.The Mayor’s Pride Awards are organised and delivered by St Albans City and District Council, in association with the Herts Advertiser. More here

The Rotary Clubs in St Albans organise the event to raise money for local charities through rider sponsorship.
The Cycle Ride welcomes new entrants and sees the return of many who have taken part before at all levels of age, fitness and cycling proficiency.

St Albans & District Talking Newspaper (“SADTN”) helps blind and partially-sighted residents keep in touch with what’s going on in their local community. Every listener is provided free-of-charge with a playback unit and four audio programmes posted each month. Programmes include news stories and readers’ letters from the local papers, articles from local and national magazines, interviews with local ‘celebrities’, previews of music/arts events, audio book reviews and more.
